VANCOUVER, Wash. – National Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15-Oct. 15, is a time to acknowledge, honor and celebrate the history, achievements and contributions of Hispanic and Latine/o/a communities to our country, culture and healthcare organization.
PeaceHealth invites the community to join our live virtual event, Unidos, somos más (Together, we are more), from noon–1:30 p.m. PT, Thursday, Oct. 15, for an interactive session with Hispanic and Latino healthcare advocates who will share personal stories and reflect on how their heritage has shaped their identities, leadership styles and their commitment to advancing healthcare.
PeaceHealth, based in Vancouver, Wash., is a non-profit Catholic health system offering care to communities in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. PeaceHealth has approximately 16,000 caregivers, nearly 3,200 physicians and clinicians, more than 160 clinics and 9 medical centers serving both urban and rural communities throughout the Northwest. In 1890, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace founded what has become PeaceHealth. The Sisters shared expertise and transferred wisdom from one medical center to another, always finding the best way to serve the unmet need for healthcare in their communities. Today, PeaceHealth is the legacy of the founding Sisters and continues with a spirit of respect, stewardship, collaboration and social justice in fulfilling its Mission.
