LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Freshman Baylee Barckley shot a 2-over 74 Tuesday, Montana’s best round of the tournament, to help the Griz golf team close with a final-round 312 and tie for 13th at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational.

Montana opened the tournament with rounds of 321 and 313 on Monday at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club.

Barckley’s (78-80-74–232) strong finish – it was the best round of her brief college career by two strokes – allowed her to move up the standings and finish in a tie for 28th. She birdied a pair of holes on her back nine Tuesday and finished with four for the tournament.

Sophomore Hailey Hoagland (81-77-77–235) shot her second consecutive 77 Tuesday to tie for 40th; junior Amanda Kahn (79-79-79–237) wrapped up her steady tournament in a tie for 46th. Senior Phoebe Tan (83-77-82–242) tied for 62nd; freshman Sadie Crippen (90-85-83–258) placed 85th.

Washington (286-294-285–865) won the tournament for the second straight year. Washington’s Julianne Alvarez (72-71-68–211) shot 5-under to finish five strokes clear of the field.

Montana will compete for the final time this fall Oct. 24-25 at the Cal Poly Lady Mustang at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
