Locals wrestling on German exchange trip

A team of some of the top prep wrestlers from across Montana will compete in Germany this week on a cultural exchange wrestling trip.

Team Montana, a squad that features a pair of Missoula Big Sky grapplers, will wrestle with their German counterparts in the freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines, the two styles most often seen internationally.

Luke Entzel, the 170-pound champion this past winter as a junior, will wrestle at 176 pounds during the trip and his high school teammate, Conner Gordon, is one of two Treasure State wrestlers at 212 pounds. Gordon took fifth at 195 pounds at the State AA meet last season.

Team Montana consists of 17 wrestlers along with a trio of coaches and team leaders. The team arrived in Germany on Wednesday and is scheduled to be there through Aug. 11.
