Pato O'Ward so much wants to have an IndyCar race in Mexico, his native country. This week, the series will be at Texas Motor Speedway for its second race of the season. It’s the closest IndyCar track to Mexico and San Antonio, the Texas city where O’Ward grew up.

Sergio Perez stepped up for Red Bull to ensure the team started from the pole at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after a mechanical issue sidelined two-time defending world champion Max Verstappen. Verstappen was fastest in all three practice sessions but his qualifying effort was cut short with a driveshaft issue. Perez went on to win pole for the second consecutive year — the only two poles of his career. Verstappen will start 15th.

The bad news for Max Verstappen’s rivals heading into the Formula One season is that Red Bull's car could even be better. That’s saying something considering Verstappen won a record 15 races last season on his way to a second straight world title. 

Max Verstappen put in the most miles and put up the fastest time on the first day of Formula One preseason testing. The defending champion from the Netherlands lapped the Bahrain International Circuit .029 seconds faster than Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso.

IndyCar driver Conor Daly will attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 with the NASCAR team owned by Floyd Mayweather. The Money Team Racing raced its way into the Daytona 500 last year with driver Kaz Grala.

Williams driver Alex Albon intends to show the more steely side to his personality in Formula One. The affable Albon is one of the most popular drivers but thinks that also comes with some misperception. He says people "see me as a happy-go-lucky person" but “I’m much stronger than people can imagine.”

Ed Baiden, who heads PPG's traffic solution business, calls it "the beauty of our system in the U.S." that each state has its own shade of yellow paint for road markings. "There's a Kentucky yellow, a Pennsylvania yellow, an Iowa yellow," Baiden said.
