After a June snowstorm visited high-elevation portions of the Beartooth Highway last weekend, the scenic thoroughfare reopened late Tuesday morning.
The Montana Department of Transportation announced the highway fully reopened at 11 a.m., after it closed Saturday afternoon at Vista Point due to snowy road conditions.
A portion of the closed area reopened Sunday, but only to the Montana-Wyoming state line south of Red Lodge. MDT cited continued winter weather conditions, including drifting snow, in announcing the Wyoming portion's continued closure on Monday.
