There was a yellow theme to last week's outings.
In addition to lawns filled with dozens of dandelion blooms, hikes revealed a yellow warbler along the Yellowstone River and a hillside of glacier lilies east of Bozeman.
Spring can be a great time to hike provided the trail is dry. Days are cool, although a rain jacket may be necessary, and bugs are almost nonexistent.
Cloudy days also negate the need for sunscreen.
