To all the friends and neighbors of Genesis House:
It is time to invite you all to our annual Open House Christmas Party. There will be time to get to know each other better. The party will be Thursday, Dec. 12, at 5:30 p.m. and will end when we’ve sung every Christmas carol and song that any of us there can think of.
For those new to Stevensville or who haven’t heard about Genesis House, it is a transitional home for women who have mental illness and are on the stage in their treatment to be ready to prepare to live more independently. It’s a nice occasion for the whole group. The board members, staff and residents will be glad to answer your questions.
We’ve been in this house for about forty years. The house has also done a lot of transitioning and transforming. Donna Thompson has been the program director for nearly 20 years. This house is owned by the board of trustees. Donna and the staff operate the house as much like a home as possible. Although the house is independent of the state, the state does pay a per diem fee; it is with this money that the house operates.

At this point we know of no major projects that need done — but who knows. The house is over 100 years old in its oldest areas.
We look forward to seeing you on Dec. 12.
Wishing you all a blessed Christmas.
