I read in this morning’s Military Times that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis plans on sending 800 active-duty troops to the Tex-Mex border to augment the 2,100 mostly unarmed National Guard soldiers already in place. The purpose of this “surge” of forces is to discourage thousands of Central American migrants from invading our country and to assist the U.S. Border Patrol.
Some news outlets, along with our POTUS, claim the migrant caravan is being secretly helped and infiltrated by select Middle East terrorist folks. They may be riding along in disguise and unnoticed aboard camels, burros or sand vehicles.
Perhaps a few of the disgruntled Montana open carry folks could volunteer and help out along the border like the Cajun Navy does during national disasters. They should give themselves a catchy nickname like “Gaspar’s Raiders” or something like that. Hopefully they’ll just be armed with rubber bullets.
