No one, including the President of the United States, the United States Attorney General and the Department of Homeland Security, has the right to use children and families to leverage their preferred legislative agendas.

Nor should any child or family be used to threaten or deter human beings seeking asylum. The practice of separating children from their families must be stopped immediately. It is a traumatic and inhumane practice. It is a permanent stain on our country. The United Nations Human Rights Commission has stated to the Trump administration that our country is violating human rights.

The politcal wheels of this country grind incredibly slowly. Political agendas must be brought to a halt and the seperation practice stopped before one more child is scarred for life by being ripped from the arms of their families and placed in facilites with no idea of what is happening to them or why. General Hayden, former director of the CIA and the National Security Agency under presidents of both parthies, compared the Trump administration’s practice of separating families to Nazi Germany.

We dare not go down this road. The separation practice must be halted immediately, outside of any political agendas or considerations.
