Victor man charged with sexual abuse of children

  • 0

A Victor man was charged Wednesday with felony sexual abuse of children after he allegedly sent sexual messages to a 12-year-old girl via TikTok.

Richard Grant Hall, 43, appeared on the charge before Ravalli County Justice Jennifer Ray. Ray set bond at $250,000, with pretrial supervision and GPS monitoring if released.

The charging affidavit said the girl’s mother reported finding sexual texts between Hall and her daughter.

The woman told a sheriff’s deputy that she had retrieved the password to her daughter’s tablet and observed messages on the social media application, TikTok, between Hall and her daughter. The affidavit said the woman recognized pictures and videos of Hall, who had rented a room from her mother at one time.

Hall referred to several different sexual acts and his intention to perform them with the 12-year-old in the messages, the affidavit said. He also sent a photograph of a different young female who was partially undressed and said he wanted to see her in similar attire.

The text appeared to indicate that Hall was arranging to meet with the girl on the weekend of Nov. 26-28, the affidavit said.

When Hall met with a sheriff’s detective, he allegedly admitted to talking with the girl via TikTok and sending sexual messages.

The affidavit said Hall is a registered Tier II sex offender.
