A Stevensville woman died following a single-vehicle rollover Tuesday night near the Three Mile Fire Department station north of Stevensville.
The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m.
The woman’s husband was driving a pickup truck northbound on the Eastside Highway when he veered into the oncoming lane while speaking to someone in the vehicle, said Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Pat Heaney.
The driver then overcorrected and drove into the borrow pit on the right side of the road and the pickup rolled several times.
The woman was partially ejected and later succumbed to her injuries at a Missoula hospital.
There were three children in the truck.
An 8-year-old girl was fully ejected from the vehicle. Heaney said she remains hospitalized with broken bones and lacerations.
The other two children, ages 10 and 7, and the father were treated for injuries and released.

An investigation continues to determine the speed of the truck when the accident occurred. Heaney said there was no indication that alcohol played a role in the accident.
