Pharaohplex owner Joe McLean and his 2-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd, Blu, stand in front of the theater.

The Pharoahplex is hosting a free event with food trucks, a free showing of Shrek 2001 and an open house for the community to tour the remodeled facilities, Wednesday, Nov. 24.

The facility is located at 582 Old Corvallis Road.

Owner Joe McLean said the evening will be exciting with doors open at 6 p.m. and the main feature starting at 7 p.m.

“The food trucks will actually be inside, and we’ll have $1 popcorn and cotton candy,” McLean said. “It’s a bring your own chair, bring your own bean bag kind of thing. We’ll also have a lot of other vendors and public entities.”

Local filmmaking companies Ninety-nine Productions and Fastcoast Productions will be present. As will MAPS Media Institute, Stevensville’s technology classes and the Corvallis’ Media Class with a showing of their production.

“It’s free to the public and free to all vendors,” McLean said. “People can just come for free, pick up some popcorn and wander around, check out the place and enjoy the show.”
