CORVALLIS — Flora Alice Tinder Stephens, 98 years old, was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Bozeman. She went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Discovery Care Centre in Hamilton surrounded by family.

She was married to Elmer L. Stephens on Sept. 5, 1936, they were married 57 years and blessed with seven children: daughters, Flora Lee (Steve) Firkins of Corvallis, Iris (Emery) Brunett of Laramie, Wyoming, Elaine (Lowell) Stevens of West Richland, Washington, Shirley (Buster) Bain of Hamilton; sons, Tom (Jodie) Stephens of Corvallis, Bob (Helen) Stephens of Spokane, Washington, Gary (Bev) Stephens of Corvallis; she is also survived by her sister, Betty Desaquirant of San Lorenzo, California; and an amazing 100 grandchildren.

Our mother's love was a gift from God. Mom and Dad’s happiest times were when they were with their children and grandchildren. After Dad’s passing in 1993, mom lived in Corvallis until 2005 then moved in with her daughter Flora Lee for 12 years.

She enjoyed traveling with her family to Laramie, Wyoming, Coeur d’Alene, Spokane, two trips to Hawaii, Yellowstone Park, Disneyland, family reunions in California, and all the fun Summer family get-togethers.

She loved to watch football, especially the Griz, Denver Broncos and Raiders. The last few months her new home was at Discovery Care Centre. The love and care she received from everyone there made her last days special. She loved visiting and kidding around with all the care givers. She also looked forward to church and bible study at the Centre. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Stephens; parents, Thomas L. and Ina Tinder; stepchildren, Kathryn Della Rosa, Earl William Stephens, Darlene Iris Lupo; son-in-laws, Stephen Firkins and Emery Brunett; grandbabies, Keith Lowell Stevens, Randy Lloyd Stevens and Buster Floyd Bain Jr.

The pallbearers are: Stevie Firkins, Emery Brunett, Greg Stephens, Dewey Stephens, Kevin Stephens and Brad Bain. Honorary pallbearers are: Nick Bain, Josh Stephens, Zach Stephens.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Daly-Leach Chapel and 10 a.m. to noon on Friday.
