Donna Mae Walker (Shults) left this life for a better one, surrounded by family on October 19, 2018. She was 84 years young.

She was born on May 6, 1934 in Great Falls, Montana to Donald B. and Helen E. Shults. As a young girl, Donna lived in different places in Montana as her father worked for the Great Northern Railway. She graduated from high school in Sunburst, Montana.

In 1953, Donna married Warren T. Whitt and they moved to Kevin, Montana. They had 4 children. Warren died in a motor vehicle accident in 1967.

Donna met James C Walker in Kevin, Montana. They married and had two more children.

Jim, Donna and family left Kevin and moved to the Flathead Lake area. Jim and Donna took over the fruit orchard his father started in Big Arm, MT and Jim later expanded the family orchard more than doubling the operation. When they retired from the orchard business they moved to Victor, MT and they opened an antique shop.

Donna, Jim and family eventually moved to Hamilton, MT and they continued their antique shop in a new location. Jim and Donna eventually retired from their antique business and sold their home in Hamilton. In celebration of their newfound freedom, Jim and Donna bought a motorhome and traveled to Arizona and Nevada for several years becoming “snow birds.” When they tired of motorhome living, they bought a piece of property just off of Golf Course Rd where Jim continued his gardening and Donna continued her antiquing. Jim died in 2008 of natural causes.

Donna had many interests but her passion was antiques. Throughout the years, Donna collected various things but one of her loves of antiquing involved jewelry. She loved taking her jewelry and wares to the Hamilton Senior Center Flea Market. This was the second Saturday of each month and she continued to do this up until about 1½ years ago. Donna loved the people there and looked forward to visiting with friends and customers alike. Donna often wore a military jacket at the flea market, which family thought was her signature look. Donna found this jacket in a box she bought at an auction and she loved it when anyone would come up to her and ask how long she had served in the Navy. Donna would smile and say, “No, I wasn’t in the Navy, but my husband was.”

Donna is survived by her sibling Janice Morrison as well as Donna’s children, her children’s spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
