HAMILTON — Dr. Valerie Ann Winn, Ph.D., 83, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Friday Sept. 27, 2019, at the home of her stepdaughter, Shelley Winn, surrounded by loved ones. Valerie was born May 28, 1936 in Oakland, California, the daughter of the late Norman Robert Brown and Gertrude Kate (Hammond) Brown.

At a young age Valerie completed nursing school which served as a solid foundation for her to advance her education and career. Valerie went on to obtain a master’s degree (marriage and family therapist) in counseling and then a doctorate degree in psychology. Valerie excelled in practice in both California and then here in Hamilton and positively impacted many people’s lives.

Valerie was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Winn (2016) and her son, Eric M. Reese (2018). Valerie is survived by her son, Scott A. Reese of Sacramento, California; and her stepdaughter Shelley C. Winn of Corvallis; as well as by her grandson, Joshua Reese of Citrus Heights, California; and her step-granddaughter Kaelyn Sanchez of Corvallis.
