Ernie W. Mendenhall went home to the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Ernie was born in Hamilton, Montana, on Nov. 2, 1953, and lived in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley his entire life. He was a humble, kind and gentle man who loved his family, friends, the outdoors and any animal that showed up at his door. He was employed for many years as a fishing guide and loved to tell stories of the adventures he had with his clients. Most recently, Ernie was employed at Bob Ward & Sons, where he cherished his relationship with other employees.
Ernie is survived by his son, Nick Mendenhall and grandson, Ethan of Stanton Island, New York; sister, Mary Woods (Bob), of Coeur d’Alene; sister, Donna Feight of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews and other loved and cherished friends. While our hearts ache for the loss, we rejoice that Ernie is home and at perfect peace with Jesus. “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bitterroot Humane Association, P.O. Box 57, Fairgrounds Road, Hamilton MT 59840, or to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 West Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, I D., 83815, in memory of Ernie Mendenhall.
A celebration of life for Ernie will be at a later date, with information to follow.
