DARBY — Ginny Bonnell passed away in her home on March 14, 2020.

Ginny was born Virginia Lynn Metour in Coral Gables Florida on August 27, 1946.

She spent her childhood growing up in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California. Ginny was eleven years old when her mother died and thereafter was raised by her father and grandmother.

In the mid 1960s Ginny married her school sweetheart, Peter Bonnell. Ginny was blessed with two fine daughters who in turn gave her five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

After living in three national parks in the lower 48, the family moved to Juneau, Alaska, and lived there for twenty-four years. During this time Ginny was a home day care provider for lots of little ones. She also managed a fabric store. She enjoyed sport fishing for halibut and salmon in the waters of Southeast Alaska.

Ginny and Pete moved to Darby Montana in 2002. She loved her home here. Most important to Ginny was her association with the Darby Bread Box food bank. As one of the founding members she took great pride in what the food bank gave to her community. Ginny’s parrot, two dogs and one cat as well as her loving family greatly miss her.
