The body of missing 32-year-old Christopher McCown of Hamilton has been located following a multi-agency search.
Hamilton Police Chief Steve Snavely and Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton reported on Friday that McCown's remains had been located west of Hamilton on Tuesday, May 23.
The preliminary investigation indicates that McCown died due to a fall. Hamilton Police officers, Ravalli County sheriff's deputies and search and rescue personnel located McCown's remains.
McCown was reported missing on May 16. The last confirmed sighting of McCown was on May 11 in the Hamilton area, and a witness reported seeing a male matching his description on a trail west of Hamilton on May 12 according to law enforcement.
The Hamilton Police Department and Ravalli County Sheriff's Office extended their "sincere condolences" to McCown's family and friends in a statement released on Friday.
