Ballet Bitterroot Dance Academy won at the "Kids Artistic Revue" recent dance competition in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
Coaches Courtney Ratliff and Mauriana Jessop said they were proud of their student dancers.
“We were 1 of 28 dance studios competing from the region,” Ratliff said. “The studios were from Montana, Idaho and Washington.”
The Ballet Bitterroot Dance Academy team had six students in competition. The "Mini Elite Team" consisted of dancers Ava Slatten, Alexis Treece and Lily Adair. The "Prima Team" was comprised of dancers Ceder Slatten, Amanda Boelman and Katie Gleason.
The placements of which team performed the piece, the name of the piece and the award they received: Mini Elite - To The Sky - Top First; Mini Elite - Dancin' - Top First; Prima - Pachelbel Reimagined - Elite Top First and First Overall High Point Award (highest possible award); Prima - Wild Things - Top First; Amanda Boelman Solo - No Return – First; Katie Gleason Solo - High Hopes - Top First; Amanda Boelman and Katie Gleason Duet - We Go Together - Top First.
“These dancers have been working hard, applying themselves to their technique and pushing themselves to be the best they can be,” Ratliff said. “They danced with passion and joy at this competition. I'm extremely proud of each of them.”
