Sapphire Lutheran Homes is hosting a high tea and classical piano performance called, ‘High Tea and Middle C’ to benefit Marcus Daly Hospice this Sunday.

Doug Peterson, Marcus Daly Hospice chaplain, said it will be a great afternoon in a nice intimate setting.

“We’re really excited that Sapphire Lutheran Homes will host a fundraiser for Marcus Daly Hospice to support families dealing with end-of-life issues,” said Peterson. “I’m looking forward to great music and good food.”

Arthur Kostuk is the classical pianist performing. He is an international pianist who has performed venues in New York City, Chicago, Boston, Montreal, Canada and Vienna, Austria. Kostuk has been playing the piano for over 50 years and will be performing soft classical pieces written by Franz Shubert, Handel, Beethoven, Liszt, Chopin and Mozart.

“Arthur Kostic is a world-renowned pianist who just happens to live in the Bitterroot Valley,” said Peterson. “I invite people to come see his love for music and the piano. Music just comes out of him – it will be a treat for music lovers.”

Dominic Farrenkopf, director of community life for Sapphire Lutheran Homes, said they are providing the gourmet finger foods and hot tea in fancy teapots.

“Sapphire’s mission is to serve seniors and hospice also serves many seniors,” said Farrenkopf. “Marcus Daly Hospice provides a great service to our community and we at Sapphire wish to support them in any way we can. Hosting this tea party is one of our ways we can support hospice.

“Sapphire Lutheran Homes wishes to be a part of the community instead of apart from the community. We also seek to build faithful and active community partnerships.”

Marcus Daly Hospice has been selling raffle tickets for incredible items. Tickets will be drawn and the raffle winners will be announced at this event.

“We’d be happy to sell some tickets at the event but the tea is a fundraiser,” said Peterson.

‘High Tea and Middle C’ will be at Sapphire Lutheran Homes this Sunday, Nov. 2, 2 p.m. It has reserved seating for 64 and there are a handful of tickets remaining.

Tickets to the event are $25. Call Sapphire Lutheran Homes, 363-2800, or Marcus Daly Hospice, 363-6503. If you have questions contact Doug Peterson, Marcus Daly Hospice chaplin at 381-0885.
