The purr-fectly wonderful Bitter Root Humane Association 2020 Calendars are ready for purchase.
Each calendar is filled with photographs of the furry residents that have visited the Bitter Root Humane Association shelter.
BRHA Board Member Jen Chase said she thought up the calendar idea because her aunt in Canada sends her a cat calendar each Christmas.
“The BRHA had done it a number of years ago and I don’t know why they stopped doing it,” she said. “I grew up in Calgary and they have a cat rescue foundation there and every year I can count on a calendar as a Christmas gift. I thought, ‘if they can do it, why can’t we?’”
Robin Dewey, board member, said that as a photographer the challenge was snapping pictures before the animals were adopted.
“I took all the cat pictures and Barb Garten took all the dog pictures,” Dewey said. “There is also a rooster, a pig and a rabbit. We get all kinds of animals into the shelter. The photos are our shelter residents, but most aren’t current because our adoption rate is so successful and the pets pictured have found their forever homes.”

The heart-warming calendar was produced with the generous support of monthly sponsor businesses.
“The businesses chose a month to sponsor and were so great to help us out,” Dewey said.
The calendars cost $15, make wonderful Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers, and can be purchased at the Bitter Root Humane Association, The Paper Clip, Stone Cottage, Artisans on 2nd, Lakeland Feeds and Wild About Pets.
100% of the proceeds from the sale of the calendars go toward the care and feeding of the animals.
