The Ravalli County Sheriff's Office has located and arrested 27-year-old Alex Ward Sabo, a Victor-area resident, after a 24-hour manhunt.
Sabo was first arrested on Sept. 15 on felony theft charges, and released from the Ravalli County Detention Center three days later. An affidavit of probable cause from that incident reports that he allegedly paid $600 for an $1,800 bike that was stolen from a Hamilton business, and then pawned it three days later in Missoula for $200.
As the result of an ongoing investigation, Sabo now also faces felony charges of forgery and possession of dangerous drugs, as well as a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton said he believes Sabo became aware of the investigation, made suicidal references to family members, and ran from officers Tuesday afternoon. Officers spent hours trying to find him, and tracked him for about five miles, but were unable to locate him.
Holton issued an alert About 12:40 p.m. Wednesday seeking the public's help in locating Sabo, and he was taken into custody about two hours later.
