Hamilton fireworks display fundraising

Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf, aka Uncle Sam, poses with Evans Ace Hardware store manager, Chris Smith. Evans Ace Hardware is one of many businesses that sponsor the fireworks display. Many businesses have donation buckets at their checkout counters.

The City of Hamilton still needs to raise about $5,000 for its annual fireworks display.

The display that will light up the sky at the Ravalli Count Fairgrounds at dark on Thursday, July 4, costs $12,000.

Hamilton Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf said the city has raised $7,000 so far.

“Since becoming mayor, I have tried to make this my personal mission to raise the money for the fireworks show from private donations,” Farrenkopf said.

In the spirit of the event, Farrenkopf often appears dressed as Uncle Sam to collect money from donors.

All donations are welcome. No amount is too small.

People who would like to contribute can mail a check to: City of Hamilton, 223. S. 2nd St., Hamilton, MT 59840. They can also drop off checks at city hall at the same address. Donations are tax deductible.

“Celebrating with a Fourth of July fireworks show is a great way for our community to come together and celebrate the freedoms and independence we all know and love,” Farrenkopf said.
