HHS Sceneworks 2019

The Hamilton High School Theater Arts 1 group is performing “Words Without Songs” at the “Sceneworks” event Jan. 18.

The Hamilton High School Theater Arts program will present “Sceneworks,” an evening of scenes and monologues on Friday, Jan. 18.

Theater Arts Educator Faylee Favara said the production is inspired by students.

“The Theater Arts 1 group is performing a great piece called ‘Words Without Songs,’” Favara said. “They were each given a famous song like The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel, Coat of Many Colors by Dolly Parton, etc. and asked to write a short monologue inspired by the song.”

The Theater Arts 2 and 3 groups are doing scenes from modern plays including Barefoot in the Park, Laundry and Bourbon and others.

The performance of “Sceneworks” is designed for all audiences and is free as a thank you to the community for supporting the performing arts.

Attend “Sceneworks” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, at the Performing Arts Center 327 Fairgrounds Road in Hamilton.
