MISSOULA — The girls of the Southern A soccer league were pesky defenders while Northern A saw some of the best goal scorers in the state of Montana.

While the paths may have been different, the competing conferences came together on a stacked all-state and all-conference list released after the fall soccer season concluded last month.

The state's leading goal scorer Hannah Gedlaman of Columbia Falls headlines an all-state list that included three of her Wildkat teammates. Josie Windauer, who scored 17 goals, Macey Sandefer and Hannah Callender all joined the all-state team with Gedlaman, who found the back of the net 25 times last season. Windauer was second in the conference in scoring and Callender was third.

In the Southern A, Loyola Sacred Heart's Tessa Burke was the conference's leading scorer, finishing with 14 goals and a league-best 32 points for her Breakers, as the senior was named to the all-state team. Joining her from Loyola among the honorees were senior Ceci Benson and sophomore Syd Koppang.

The Hamilton Broncs, who fell to eventual state champion Laurel in the Class A state semifinals, also put three on the all-state list. Captain Tessa Della Silva finished the season with a balanaced attack of eight goals and eight assists, according to leaguelineup.com/nwmta, good for the third-most points in the Southern A. Della Silva's teammates, Lauren Ryter and Kara Nye, were also named to the all-state squad.

Stevensville's Megan Pendergast, back from a volleyball hiatus her junior year, was also named to the all-state team. Pendergast's seven goals and three assists helped the Yellowjackets reach the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Rounding out the Northern A all-state award winners were a pair of Polson Pirates and Whitefish Bulldogs. Polson's Ashlee Howell and Marina Mayorga were counted among the state's best players, as were Whitefish's Pixie Moore and Anna Cook.

Each all-stater was also named to their respective conference's first-team all-conference list.

Also on that list in the Northern A are Libby's Isabelle Martineau, Bigfork's Ally Pancoast and Whitefish's Lexi Carbo. The Southern A's remaining all-conference players are Frenchtown's Megan Delaney, Loyola's Emma Danile, Stevi's Alli Emery and Hamilton's Rylee Wiediger.
