Skip all the fuss of baking holiday sweet treats but enjoy the effort by local bakers.

The Bitter Root Humane Association is hosting its unique "Cookie Walk, Bake Sale & More" 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.

If you are more of a do-it-yourself kind of person, the North Valley Public Library is hosting a “Holiday Cookie Exchange” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Bitter Root Humane Association Board Member Mary Gehl said this is the 11th year for this special holiday event and fundraiser.

"It never ceases to amaze me how it grows every year and all the smiles it brings to our customers faces as they see all the tables full of sweet treats just waiting for them,” Gehl said. “This year we have over 50 volunteer bakers and if someone can't find that special cookie or baked good treat here they won't find it anywhere."

The BRHA receives donations of favorite holiday cookies in every flavor, shape and size by talented area bakers for the "Cookie Walk, Bake Sale & More."
