Hold on to your pink hats as the October wild ride of Sprinkle Pink begins.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and “Let's Catch Breast Cancer Early in Ravalli County” is the theme. Statistics show one in eight women will get breast cancer.

The month of increasing awareness for early cancer detection and fundraising for the Aid for Mammography Fund is full of events, raffles, programs, competitions, activities and a special mammogram drawing by the Hamilton Downtown Association merchants.

The goal of the Bitterroot Valley Sprinkle Pink program is to help women detect breast cancer early. All donations stay local and are deposited into the Aid for Mammography Fund to help Ravalli County residents in need, funds to pay for clinical breast exams, mammograms and any other necessary related procedures at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital. Since 2011, the Aid for Mammography Fund served 916 Ravalli County residents.

The Traveling Raffle has been a favorite part of Sprinkle Pink events. A $5 raffle ticket purchases the opportunity to win a day trip for two with local river guide Jenny West. Enter the raffle at River Rising, the hospital, or online.
