Students at Daly Elementary in Hamilton gathered at the end of their school day Tuesday afternoon to cheer on the school district's Special Olympics team. The team is scheduled to compete over the next three days in Missoula.

Daly Elementary Principal Nate Lant said this is the third year the school district has given the young athletes a big sendoff that includes a few cheers from the high school cheerleading squad, lots of clapping and a rousing rendition of the school song.

"They really like it," Lant said.

That's evident enough from the expression Tristan Jeppesen's face as he responds to his classmates' encouragement while his brother Colton and Josh Klein discuss the matter. Lilliana Parks and Tabatha Townsend keep an eye on the crowd.
