The last weekend of 2018 is shaping up to be warmer and windy for southern Montana.
Winds as strong as 70 mph are expected to scour Livingston and the Beartooth Absaroka Foothills beginning Friday night and continuing through Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a windy advisory from 11 p.m. Friday through noon Sunday for the area.
Gusty winds are in the forecast for the Billings area Saturday, but strong winds should stay to the west. High temperatures should be in the upper teens in southeast Montana and the upper 20s in the south central region Friday, but warmer Saturday when temperatures could be in the low 30s in southeast Montana, but in the 40s elsewhere.

A wintry mix of snow and rain is possible in the Billings area late Saturday. There will be an increased chance of snow in the mountains during the day Saturday.
Sunday should start warm and windy, but cool off with a possibility for light snow Monday and Tuesday. Warmer temperatures are expected later in the week. High temperatures New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day should be in the 20s.
Strong winds and high temperatures 10 to 15 degrees warmer than average are expected in northeastern Montana.
