SALMON, Idaho -- The Missoula Lady Bruins U-19 hockey team beat Butte 4-0 late Saturday night at the Salmon hockey tournament, finishing the weekend 2-1-1 and in fourth place.

Bozeman upset Salmon 1-0 Sunday morning to advance to the title game against Sun Valley.

Missoula sophomore Andi Carnes of Hellgate scored first on an assist from Hellgate sophomore Sidney Triepke. Junior Ali Elliott of Victor also scored in the first period and passed the puck to senior Sara Knapp of Alberton for Missoula’s third goal just 4 minutes into the second period. Elliott also scored Missoula’s final goal in the second period.

Freshman goalie Aubrey McKay of Florence had an exceptional weekend in goal, holding opponents to just two goals in four games. She had 19 saves vs. Salmon, 23 saves vs. Sun Valley, 12 saves vs. Idaho Falls, and 10 saves vs. Butte for a total of 64 in all four games.

The Lady Bruins are now 16-6-2 and will take next weekend off.

The Flathead Lady Fusion went 1-1-2 at the tournament, beating Butte 7-0, tying Idaho Falls 3-3, and losing to Salmon 2-0 and Bozeman 4-2.
