GREAT FALLS — An Ulm woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of tampering with evidence in a Cascade County investigation into sex crimes committed by her husband.

The Great Falls Tribune reports Wendy Kruse was sentenced Wednesday by District Judge Julie Macek, who called the crime "the most egregious" she had seen in her time on the bench.

Kruse's husband, Bradley Kruse, is serving a 16-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to a felony sex crime against a 13-year-old girl.

Prosecutors say Wendy Kruse destroyed pornographic DVDs the victim said Bradley Kruse forced her to watch. Public defender Larry LaFountain argued for a three-year deferred sentence.

Court records indicate Wendy Kruse plans to appeal her conviction. She has asked for a new public defender.
