Partisan election documents

Today, I received a brochure from what I thought was the Ravalli County Clerk’s Office. It offered me the opportunity to request an absentee ballot… innocent enough. But when I opened the folder, it was clearly a partisan document directed against Jon Tester and why I should not vote for him. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the brochure was paid for by the Montana Republican Party and the Montana Central Steering Committee. Yes we are in an election year, yes emotions are running high, but I must ask… is it really necessary to lie about who you really are just to get my attention? Apparently so. And that is very sad.
