I would like to ask you guys to consider supporting Jim Rehder for Idaho County Commissioner this November. The current set of Commissioners have time and time again proven to us that they intend to pursue trading away our cherished public land. They refuse to even listen to what their constituents have to say on the subject.

Jim Rehder has been a commissioner before. He has experience and a proven track record of listening to what the people want and then representing them. We have met with Rehder and he has assured us he would not support Alternative F, which trades our much-valued Salmon River, Fish Creek and Earthquake Basin acres.

I remember when Rehder was commissioner in ’08 that he always made himself accessible and would listen to his constituents. Jim Rehder would visit the communities he represents on a regular weekly schedule. Talk to the area city council people and they will all tell you he promoted a professional collaborative bottom-up style of leadership.

I know since Jim Rehder is running as a Democrat that I am asking some to think outside the box. As is often the case in local elections, the person counts for more than their party affiliation.

We currently have three commissioners who are on a path to promote their personal agenda. If you value public land and what it offers your family, then they are not your friends. They have stated publicly that would “privatize” all the public land they could. This means they would sell it to the highest bidder. We need some diversity of thought on this board. Jim Rehder has proven he will stand up and not just “go along.“

Please consider Jim Rehder when you vote this November for Idaho County Commissioner in District 3.
