WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Jan Langley Samuel, 84, passed away on September 26, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born January 28, 1933, in Hamilton, Montana to Walter Harold Langley and Golda Lewis Penner Langley.
She attended Salem College and retired from Calvary Baptist Church as a secretary. In addition she was a nursery and children’s Sunday school teacher at Calvary. Jan volunteered with the school system as a tutor and gave knitting lessons to friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jan is survived by her son Michael Samuel (Anna) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; three daughters: Cheryl Samuel Pyatt (Tom) of Summerville, South Carolina, Mindy Samuel Flow (Ralph) of Durham, North Carolina, and Marty Samuel Farmer (Tim) of Clemmons, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren: Ashley Samuel, Michelle Gatto (Simon), Jeffrey Reock, Meredith Hassell (Aaron), Lorne Pyatt, Elizabeth Flow, Martha Flow, David Flow, Walter Flow (Amanda), Rachel Flow, Erin Farmer and Brian Farmer; great-grandchildren; Lillian Flow and Everett Hassell; sister Golda Weber (David) of Stevensville; brother Wesley Langley (Vickie) of Missoula and numerous nieces and nephews.
